The only conference in Australia that’s all about litter
Tuesday 25 & Wednesday 26 July 2017 – Kirribilli Club, Lavender Bay
The KNSWB Congress is the premier conference dedicated to addressing the issue of litter in Australia. The two-day program will consist of keynote and case study presentations, and interactive panel discussions.
With an emphasis on thoughtful and research-based methods of inquiry and with input from a range of sectors, Congress is the only opportunity for individuals and groups involved in litter management, prevention and reduction to assemble together in a collaborative environment and focus on littering.
Litter management is an issue spanning multiple industries and interest groups. The solution to keeping litter out of our public spaces requires a holistic approach encompassing behavioural psychology, community engagement, logistics of local
governments, technology, education, city planning and packaging design. KNSWB faciliates communication between these distinct bodies to produce a collaborative approach for overall best practice.
Delegates and speakers come from across Australia and each delegate leaves Congress with a deep understanding of the theory behind litter reduction and a comprehensive toolkit of practical ideas to tackle litter in their community.
“Speaking at the KNSWB provided a fantastic opportunity to share learnings from litter behaviour change projects we had implemented. We were able to work with KNSWB to design a session that was most suitable for our purposes and that incorporated a panel discussion and audience interaction. Our presentation prompted feedback and discussion on our plastic reduction project from the various delegates present and was a valuable way in which to create links with other Councils and organisations.”
Kimberly Crawford, Sustainable Communities Manager, Waverley Council.
