Congratulations to Blacktown City Council for winning the Blue Star Metropolitan Overall Sustainability Award for 2018

The annual Keep NSW Beautiful (KNSWB) Blue Star Sustainability (Metropolitan) Awards were announced on Tuesday 14 November.

The event, hosted by Keep NSW Beautiful and the 2017 winner, Randwick City Council, was held at the Prince Henry Centre following a programme of presentations by prominent industry representatives and Councils.

The Blue Stars program recognises the accomplishments of Councils and volunteer environmental projects. They were presented in the categories of environmental sustainability; waste and litter reduction; best practice and innovation in cultural heritage; habitat and wildlife conservation; sustainable systems and design; and environmental education.

Blacktown City Council was also the winner of the Waste Less, Recycle More Award, and was Highly Commended in the Hey Tosser! Litter Action Award, which are both proudly supported by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (NSW EPA).
