EnviroMentors educator wins prestigious award

Keep Australia Beautiful NSW is delighted to announce our EnviroMentors Environmental Educator, Jacqui Murray, has received the Community Education Award for Outstanding Contribution to Environmental Education in New South Wales.

Jacqui took out the award at yesterday’s Australian Association for Environmental Education’s (AAEE) 31st NSW Conference in Dubbo last night. Established in 1981, the AAEE awards program is designed to recognise and encourage outstanding environmental education initiatives in individuals and groups.

Jacqui has been working with EnviroMentors since 2010 and is one of our dedicated and passionate educators who travel across the state to deliver the EnviroMentors modules to students.

David Imrie, Keep Australia Beautiful NSW CEO, said the honour was a testament to Jacqui’s commitment to educating NSW’s youth on a wide-range of sustainable issues.

“I’d like to commend and congratulate Jacqui on receiving this well deserved award,” said Mr. Imrie.

“Jacqui’s dedication to our EnviroMentors environmental education program has been nothing short of outstanding and we are delighted this prestigious award recognises her achievements.”

EnviroMentors has become Australia’s leading mobile, incursion based and interactive environmental education program for schools. In 2012, our educators delivered 417 workshops to 38,000 school aged children.
