EnviroMentors® to conduct workshops on World Environment Day

Keep Australia Beautiful NSW’s EnviroMentors normally travel across the state to deliver workshops to school students, but on World Environment Day they will be delivering sustainable living workshops to Wrigley employees.

Wrigley, a subsidiary of Mars Incorprated, produces many of the region’s best-loved gum, mint and confection brands. For more than eight years, Wrigley has been a proud long term partner of environmental education agencies across Australia and New Zealand.

EnviroMentors, an initiative of Keep Australia Beautiful NSW is the State’s leading environmental education program for primary schools. Through curriculum-linked interactive workshops, simple yet effective messages are communicated to almost 40,000 students a year. In 2012, the education unit visited well over 300 Public, Private and Independent Primary Schools across NSW and the ACT.

On World Environment Day, Wednesday 5 June, EnviroMentors will visit Wrigley to deliver the sustainable living workshops on the economical components of energy and water saving. The workshops for Wrigley employees will assist them in more effectively discussing issues of environmental sustainability with their children.

Wrigley employees were supplied with a resource pack of games and activities to use with their kids to reinforce the importance of efficient energy and water usage.

David Imrie, CEO of Keep Australia Beautiful NSW said Wrigley have been at the forefront of supporting environmental education for numerous years.
